Expedition Doctor
Description
Provide medical support at various locations around the world for travelers, expedition teams and work groups. Trips are generally 5-30 days in length and doctors accompany the patients 24/7.
Expedition Doctor General Requirements:
- Board Certified
Emergency Medicine or Family/General Practice
- ACLS, ATLS, PALS Certifications up to date
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support; ATLS – Advanced Trauma Life Support; PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Experience working in emergency room settings
- Experience with airway management, basic orthopedics, trauma management
- Experience in International Travel
- Experience working in rural and remote settings
- Experience supervising pre-hospital providers
- Experience in tropical medicine and travel health (MPH, Diploma or Cert)
- Experience in Wilderness Medicine
- Familiarity with satellite communications and remote internet access
- Ability to pass a security screening may be necessary
- At least one additional language skill besides English
Friendly, easy going and able to function in stressful conditions, autonomously.
Physically fit and basic knowledge of outdoor sports skills such as hiking, climbing, paddle sports & cycling.
Remote and Austere Site Doctor
Description
Provide medical suport for a group of workers from a fixed medical facility for an extended period of time. Patients range from primary care and chronic disease management to trauma and medical emergencies. Often these facilities are remote and considered resource poor. Supervision of paramedics and other staff is often required including occupational health and public health duties. Contracts are generally 30-180 days in duration.
Remote and Austere Site Doctor General Requirements:
- Board Certified
Emergency Medicine, Family/General Practice, Internal Medicine or General Surgery
- ACLS, ATLS, PALS Certifications up to date
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support; ATLS – Advanced Trauma Life Support; PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Experience working in emergency room settings
- Experience managing chronic diseases
such as diabetes, hypertension and health maintainence
- Experience with airway management, basic orthopedics, trauma management
- Experience in International Travel
- Experience working in rural and remote settings
- Experience supervising pre-hospital providers
- Experience in tropical medicine and travel health
- Experience in Wilderness Medicine
- Familiarity with satellite communications and remote internet access
- Ability to pass a security screening may be necessary
- At least one additional language skill besides English

Expedition Paramedic
Description
Provide medical support at various locations around the world for travelers, expedition teams and work groups. Trips are generally 5-30 days in length and paramedics accompany the patients 24/7. Adventure Doc Paramedics operate under a very advanced set of medical protocols and an elaborate set of medications, diagnostics and procedures.
Expedition Paramedic General Requirements:
- Nationally Registered
with at least 3-5 years of post-certificate experience
- ACLS, ATLS, PALS Certifications up to date
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support; ATLS – Advanced Trauma Life Support; PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Basic Trauma Life Support or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support certification
- Experience in International Travel
- Experience working in rural and remote settings
- Experience in Wilderness Medicine and ideally W-EMT trained
- Familiarity with satellite communications and remote internet access
- Ability to pass a security screening may be necessary
- At least one additional language skill besides English

- Trauma Life Support or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support certification
- At least 1-2 years of Emergency and Intensive Care experience
- Experience in International Travel
- Experience working in rural and remote settings
- Experience in Wilderness Medicine and ideally W-EMT trained
- Familiarity with satellite communications and remote internet access
- Ability to pass a security screening may be necessary
- At least one additional language skill besides English

Laboratory Technician
Description
Perform laboratoratory services in international clinics, often in resource poor facilities. Microscopy, bench identification and laboratory management skills are used on a daily basis. Equipment maintainence and repair is also required.
Laboratory Technician General Requirements:
- Accredited Medical Laboratory Technician
with at least 3-5 years of experience - accreditation through CAAHEP, or ABHES, or NAACLS
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Experience in International Travel
- Experience working in rural and remote settings
- Familiarity with satellite communications and remote internet access
- Ability to pass a security screening may be necessary
- At least one additional language skill besides English

Radiology Technician
Description
Perform basic radiology exams including plain films of long bones, chest and abdomen. Jobs are often in resource poor settings and remote locations. Equipment maintainence and repair skills are also preferred.
Radiology Technician General Requirements:
- Accredited Radiology Technician with at least 3-5 years of experience
ARRT certified or equivalent
- Basic Life Support certification
Basic CPR and AED certification for adults and children
- Experience in International Travel
- Experience working in rural and remote settings
- Familiarity with satellite communications and remote internet access
- Experience with tele-radiology systems
- Ability to pass a security screening may be necessary
- At least one additional language skill besides English
